Ijazah The Certification

In this course, the student can get a certified ijazah, based on reciting and memorizing the Quran with Tajweed rules according to the recitation style of ‘Aasim ‘An Hafs. Out of the ten known recitation styles, this is the most widespread throughout the world.

This ijazah is achieved after the student recites the complete Quran by passing through a series of tests by carefully applying each rule of tajweed with full command of his/her knowledge, to his teacher.

The chain of this ijazah then ultimately goes on to Tab’a Tabie’en, then to Tabie’en, then to Sahaba Akram (رضي الله عنهم ) then to Prophet Mohammad صلى الله عليه وسلم then to Jibraeel-e-Ameen (عليه السلام ) and then finally to the Almighty Allah (سبحانه وتعالى ).

The first recitation style is based on Imam ‘Aasim rules which are being carried forward by the two narrators; Hafs and Shu’bah.

Aasim:

His full name was Ibn Abi Al-Najood Bin Bahdalah. He belonged to the tribe of Banu Asad and was the shaikh of recitors in Al-Kufa. He was one of the Tabie’ens as was accompanied by a Sahabi; Haris Bin Hassan (رضي الله عنه ). He died in 127 Al-Hijara in Kufa.

Shu’bah:

Imam ‘Aasim’s first narrator was Abu Bakar Shu’bah Bin ‘Ayyash Bin Salim Kufi Asadi. He was considered a reference for the great scholars in the field of Sunnah. He died in 194 Al-Hijara in Kufa.

Hafs:

The second narrator was Hafs Bin Sulaymaan Bin Al-Magheerah Asadi. He was the cloth merchant and one of the most trustworthy preservers of the tajweed rules. He died in 180 Al-Hijara.
